Become a Tenant Board Member
Barcud have a Board of Management who have overall responsibility for policy development and the management of the Association. There are tenants and independent people on the Board and any tenant who is interested could have a chat with our Group Director of Governance, Risks and Resources to find out exactly what is involved.
Attend Tenant Liaison Forum meetings
Go to a Sheltered Forum meeting
These meetings are usually held on the second Friday of every other month and any tenant who comes under the responsibility of a scheme co-ordinator is welcome to attend. This is a chance for tenants from other schemes to get together socially, learn new things and discuss any issues they may have in relation to the sheltered scheme service.
Fill in repairs surveys and other satisfaction questionnaires
Barcud sends out satisfaction forms when any maintenance or repair is carried out, and sends out other surveys, such as the one when new tenants move into their home. It is important that we get feedback on the service we provide in order to ensure things improve, so sending these back to us really helps.
Become a shareholder
Any Barcud tenant can become a shareholder, subject to approval by Barcud`s Board of Management. There is a nominal fee of £1.00 and membership entitles the tenant to vote at Barcud`s Annual General meeting (AGM) or Special AGM.
Online meetings
Barcud currently holds many meetings online. If you are interested in joining our meetings the one of our Tenant Involvement Officers would be happy to help you. Please contact us by e-mail or phone, details below.

Join Barcud Tenant Partnership Group
The Barcud Tenant Partnership Group was formed following the merger of Tai Ceredigion with Mid-Wales Housing Association.
Members are tenants from across Barcud’s operational area and they usually meet on the last Friday of every month (except for August and December). They discuss any issues and concerns that have been raised and feedback any information they have been given following their monthly meetings with either Barcud Executive Team or members of Barcud’s Operational Management Team.
Members are involved in monitoring services throughout Barcud and below are some of the ways they do this:
- Phone surveys
- Estate inspections
- Inspection of empty properties prior to re-letting, to ensure they comply with Barcud`s “Re-let Standard”, which the Group developed
- Reviewing Barcud`s policies and Service Standards
The Group also
- Attend Barcud`s Board of Management meetings to ensure tenants views are heard at the highest level
- Present their views to the Barcud`s Board of Management regarding Barcud`s Strategic Objectives and members attend Barcud`s Business Planning meetings
- Provide regular articles for the newsletter and produce an annual report

Join the Home Forum
This is an opportunity for tenants to give feedback on a specific Barcud service. They can do this from home and can choose to provide feedback by e-mail, phone or post.
Join a Tenants and Residents Association or Social Club
These can be set up on an estate, in a sheltered scheme or a block of flats. Tenants are encouraged to get together socially, they may address any issue that they have but they also arrange events and activities for their members. Many groups also hold fund raising events for local and national charities.
Attend focus or special interest groups meetings
These are set up, as and when required, so Barcud can discuss a specific topic, issue or policy with tenants.
